The love of giving has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember —especially that moment when someone opens a unique gift and their whole face lights up — or it makes them laugh, light up, feel that little burst of joy, or find a moment of comfort. I’ve always had a quirky sense of humor and a soft spot for the unusual, the meaningful, and the one‑of‑a‑kind pieces you don’t see in every big retail store. I’d even walk through some gift shops over the years, and they all seemed to have the same stuff — nothing quite what I was looking for. Bringing a smile, a laugh, or even a little comfort is the reason this shop came to life.
For years, the idea of opening a gift shop floated around in the conversations my sisters and I shared. It was one of those dreams that kept resurfacing — usually with laughter, usually on a porch, and usually followed by, “One day…” Eventually, life opened the door… and I walked through it.🌟✨🌟
The name came from one of my favorite sister moments. We were sitting on the porch, laughing the way only sisters can. We were loud enough that the neighbor across the street yelled, “You sound like a bunch of cackling hens!” We looked at each other, cracked up even more, and I said, “That’s a great name for a gift shop!” And that was that.🐔
The three cackling hens in our logo represent me and my two older sisters — the original trio behind the laughter, the dream, and the heart of this shop.
That porch laughter lives in everything we do. The Cackling Hen’s may be small, but it’s big on joy, charm, and family heart.

This shop is dedicated to my beautiful daughter, my two amazing sisters, my adorable grandsons, my loving husband, and my cherished mom who passed away last year.
